DC Multiverse Wave 9 Rebirth Lex Luthor Collect-And-Connect Wave Up For Pre-Order

Following news from yesterday about BigBadToyStore.com having up for pre-order the 6" DC Multiverse Clayface and Doctor Psycho Collect-And-Connect waves, we can now report they also have wave 9 up for pre-order as well. This assortment is deemed the Rebirth Lex Luthor Collect-And-Connect wave. According to BBTS the wave will include the following:








So here is where things get a bit unclear. First the Simon Baz figure BBTS is listing was not present when Mattel first officially showed this wave at NYCC back in October. However AFI did get their hands on an image of the figure before that, which is what is shown above. Also not shown at NYCC nor listed by BBTS is a Bizarro figure which AFI also showed at the same time as Baz.



Also not represented by the BBTS list but shown at NYCC is a translucent variant for The Rey figure.



We can SPECULATE based on Mattel's past track record with these Multiverse figures, that both the Bizarro and Rey Variant will end up being released as some type of store exclusive, possibly with additional Collect-And-Connect pieces for the Rebirth Lex Luthor figure.

To add more mystery to the mix, we still don't know what happened with the alternate weaponized mace and bladed hands for Clayface, which were originally shown at Toy Fair along with the rest of wave 8.



Mattel never showed any additional figures for that wave that could be released as store exclusives to contain those pieces. Again purely SPECULATING here, but perhaps Mattel will release the alternate Clayface hands with the store exclusives from the Lex Luthor wave, killing two birds with one stone??? While it would be nice if we could reach out to Mattel and get clarification on this with a response, chances are we will just have to wait and see when the figures actually start to hit shelves to get our answers.

Never-the-less, you can pre-order the Rebirth-Lux Luthor wave now, and it looks like it will start shipping sometime mid next year.
