With the 2014 NFL Draft coming to a close, it was time to announce the lone remaining member of McFarlane NFL Series 35. Though it probably comes as no surprise, the final roster spot belongs to Johnny Manziel, selected with the 22nd pick by the Cleveland Browns.
Manziel, the immensely popular quarterback out of Texas A&M, took the nation by storm as a redshirt freshman in 2012. “Johnny Football” broke countless NCAA records that season, becoming the first freshman in the history of the NCAA to throw for over 3,000 yards while rushing for over 1,000 yards. That season he led the Aggies to an upset win over #1 Alabama, a Cotton Bowl victory over Oklahoma, and broke the single season SEC record for offensive production.
Oh, and he also became the first freshman in history to win the Davey O’Brien Award and the Heisman trophy. In only two years Manziel became one of the most popular players in college football history.
“Johnny Football” will now bring his swagger and exciting style to the city of Cleveland, and whether you love him or hate him, all eyes will be on #2 as the season starts. Get ready for a wild ride.
Pick up Johnny Manziel and the rest of NFL Series 35 this November!
