New Looks At The McFarlane Toys Retro 66 Batman TV Series 6" Scale Batmobile And Batcave

Ahead of this weekend's Summer Showcase online event where McFarlane Toys will be officially revealing upcoming new products, Todd McFarlane posted this teaser image on his Instagram giving us our best full look to date at the upcoming McFarlane Toys Retro 66 Batman TV Series 6" Scale Batmobile And Batcave.

We had previously seen the close-up preview image McFarlane Toys released the other week for these, but this new image shows Todd holding up the Batmbile and on the back of the table we can see the full size of the Batcave. The image also gives us our first real look at the figure cardbacks and packaging for the line.

Both the Batcave and Batmobile are expected to cost around $30 each. While the Batcave doesn't appear to extend much beyond the Bat-Computer area as we saw in the initial preview image, for only $30 I would say it looks pretty good. Look for this new 66 Batman TV series line to be one of the highlights for this weekend's Showcase event where we will get full looks at everything shown here.

All of the Targets where I live have tons of this stuff and it's a mixed bag. The Batmobile is terrible and way too small and the cave is even smaller and cheap as it gets. It'd be worth it only for a diorama that is supposed to feature some forced perspective shots. It's one of the most disappointing releases in my 40 years of collecting. The figures features superior paint over the Mattel figs, and I think the heads have even grown on me, but they're missing paint details that the Mattel figs didn't miss, and the capes are better on Mattel. You also get a superior unmasked Bruce Wayne head with the Mattel's Batcave playset, but the one thing they don't have is the unmasked Robin and masked Joker from The Movie.

The unmasked Batman I can live without plus I don't think it looks like West. I do have the Bat and Robin figs and they're not bad. Batman looks more on point that Robin. I'm getting the Joker with the cave, and the batmobile soon. Can't wait to have this set up. Much cheaper than the mezco 3.75 inch version of that.

Now this set is a classic I can just imagine the amazing toy photography shots that will come from this set really nostalgic even though this is before my era I was born in 1992 but I still recognize and appreciate this wonderful set

So I preordered all these back in July just so I could compare them in hand with the Mattel ones but my suspicion was that I was probably not going to need them since I already had the Mattel stuff and that the only one I would likely keep would be the Batcave since that was something Mattel never did. So of course my Batcave preorder is the one that Target decides to cancel months later.....,

Yes, at a Target about 8 miles from my house. Still hoping to find a masked Joker!
