Clearly NOT Gary Frank Metallo re-design at all. The colors are all wrong and the body sculpt is nothing more than a re-painted Lex Power suit he's used over and over. It even has the same "superman shield" on the belt that all the power suits had, leg armor, gauntlets, etc. etc. Typical McFarlane rush job.
I'm so glad that's this figure is exclusive ?
How in the name of flying monkeys does McFarlane keep doing this crap of putting really cool artwork on the box as the supposed source material, then deliberately - and sometimes drastically - departing from it in the actual figure they produce? The character in the artwork is actually pretty cool. The figure in the box is an abomination by comparison, with the exception of the mask, perhaps. Wrong colors on much of the figure. Wrong chest emblem/logo. Etc. I think sometimes there are only two sub-groups in the McFarlane audience truly happy with their product: those who pay little attention to detail and customizers, who can take the great sculpts and actually make the darn things look like they should.
Does Dr. Doom know this guy stole his mask?

From the Superman; New Krypton story (pics below). Which started off w/ A pretty decent comic cross-over (which came before the unnecessary World of New Krypton-twelvept.maxi-series that is).
[It] along w/ the Johns/ Frank pre New 52 Superman revival stories; all served as A smart framework to bookendThe Lightning Saga. And the mysterious return of the original Legion of Superheroes (the Johns/ Meltzer & Robinsonwritten stuff, are some MUST READ all time Best DC comics).
