Devil’s Due Publishing Now UPC Friendly

by NMX
June 28, 2004
Although on the forefront of comic book cool for a while now, Devil’s Due has always been missing something in the retail market: UPC CODES! The codes had been something DDP planned to implement since going into self-publishing in 2004, but until recently DDP didn’t realize the extent of retailer demand for UPCs. After listening to retailers at the 2004 Wizard World East convention, Book Expo America, and the Comic Book Industry Alliance message boards, UPC codes were ordered as quickly as possible.

For everyone who likes to pretend to know what Universal Product Codes are; they help track shipments and control inventory among other things, but for a more detailed account of the magic that is UPC, check out https://electronics.howstuffworks.com/upc.htm.

The first books to carry our brand new UPC codes will be “GI JOE: RELOADED #5”, “ARMY of DARKNESS: Ashes 2 Ashes #1”, and “GI JOE #32”. Thanks to all the retailers who pushed this issue to the top of our priority list.

Founded in 1999, as both a commercial art studio and a small press comic book publisher, Devil’s Due Publishing has grown to one of the largest comic book studios in the industry. Launching into mainstream publishing in 2004, Devil’s Due Publishing has gained a reputation for highly regarded creative teams and innovative thinking.
