This September, Devil’s Due will publish The Lost Squad (JUL052799), a new 6 issue comic book series by Chris Kirby and Alan Robinson. Each issue of the black-and-white series, first seen in the pages of Digital Webbing Presents, will be 32 pages and retail for $2.95.
“When the submission arrived, I was immediately excited about it,” said DDP President Josh Blaylock. “It’s got it all—mystery, intrigue, the supernatural and Nazis. Who can ask for more?”
“Alan and I are excited to publish the first Lost Squad mini-series through Devil’s Due. The company has been a pleasure to deal with and behind the project 100%. It’s always easier to work with people who are as enthused about your work as you are, especially when the project is your creator owned baby. We’re looking forward to publishing more tales of the Lost Squad through DDP.”
When a mission is too weird for the U.S. Army, the brass calls in the Lost Squad! It’s 1942 and the seemingly unstoppable Wermarcht is on the march. As the Nazis swallow more and more of Europe, Hitler’s scientists perfect a mechanism that could guarantee his ultimate victory. The U.S. Army has only one place to turn to stop this from happening: the mysterious unit known as the Lost Squad! It’s the Dirty Dozen meets the H.P.Lovecraft – weird war tales created for a new audience! It’s got action, adventure, combat, horror -- a little something for every kind of comic book fan.
Chris Kirby’s work has appeared in Digital Webbing Presents, Prophecy Magazine, and the self published horror anthologies FREAKSHOW and BRIDE OF FREAKSHOW.. Alan’s art has also appeared in Prophecy Magazine.
Devil's Due. Reminding everyone that pop culture IS our culture.
ABOUT DEVIL'S DUE PUBLISHING (DDP)
Devil's Due Publishing was formed in 1999 as both a commercial art studio and a small press comic book publisher. DDP's first breakout success was 2001's revamp of G.I. JOE, returning the long-lost 1980s characters to comics. Fans bought over 100,000 copies per month, immediately propelling G.I. JOE to the top of the charts. Today, DDP's lineup includes Hack/Slash, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, the newly resurrected Chaos! Comics, and the Aftermath universe, an imprint featuring super-powered heroes in titles Defex, Breakdown, Blade of Kumori and Infantry.
