Atlanta, GA – October 12, 2006 - Chaos! Comics & Devil’s Due Publishing announced that Evil Ernie in Santa Fe #1 (JUL052787), released today, has NOT sold out. In a shockingly bold move, the company overprinted to allow retailers to fill reorder demand. The overprint departs from the standard industry practice of printing exactly the quantity that has been ordered (or slightly above) and then breathlessly announcing a sell-out upon release.

Chaos! Comics President Andy Eaton weighed in on the missed marketing opportunity: "I found this neat template for writing sell-out press releases in the back of my ‘Comic Book Marketing for Dummies’ book… it’s like Mad Libs. I like Mad Libs.” What was the business case behind the overprint? “People can’t buy it when it’s sold out.” said Andy.

With distinguished creators producing quality books, Chaos! is providing new readers every possible opportunity to climb aboard the relaunch. They are also offering readers an “If They Suck, Send Them Back” Money Back Guarantee, which covers all 2005-2006 Evil Ernie, Purgatori and Chastity releases. Visit www.ChaosComics.com for more details on Chaos! Comics’ Money Back Guarantee for readers.

Evil Ernie in Santa Fe #1 (JUL052787) is written by Harvey and Eisner-nominated Alan Grant (Lobo, Batman) and illustrated by Tommy Castillo (Detective Comics, Toe Tags). Cover art is by renowned fantasy illustrator Alex Horley (Lobo, Heavy Metal). The book combines elements of slasher horror, black comedy and postmodern existentialism as Evil Ernie begins a path of soul-searching destruction in Santa Fe.
