Companies Allowed To See Seven Minutes Of Episode III

Corporate America is already gearing up for the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, with companies of all kinds eager to get Star Wars-branded products to market. Everything from toys to food and apparel will be promoting the last prequel movie, and Lucasfilm's collaboration with these licensees involves exclusive previews of The Revenge of the Sith.

Aint It Cool News reports that many of these select marketing partners are being shown the first seven or eight minutes of the film – a breathtaking, action-packed sequence that will be sure to impress crowds five months from now when the film opens.

Revenge of the Sith begins with the familiar scrolling textual narrative, describing in this instance the abduction of Chancellor Palpatine. The view then pans to a large capital ship above the galactic capital of Coruscant.

A battle is in progress. Anakin and Obi-Wan fend off enemy attacks in their fighters as they attempt to reach the vessel that Palpatine is being held on. Droid fighters and droid-bombs comprise a large part of the formidable enemy fleet.

The descriptions of the opening battle sequence sound much like many of the brief clips that appear in the new Episode III teaser. More details on the footage shown to licensees can be read at AICN.

Revenge of the Sith hits theaters May 19th of next year.
