Mattel Q&A For October 1, 2009

by Jay Cochran
October 01, 2009
TNI: It was recently reported that Warner Bros and Mattel have gone separate ways on the MOTU movie due to creative differences. Can you elaborate what those differences were and where does this do for the future of a movie for He-Man?

Mattel: At this time I can report that the project is still moving forward and Mattel remains very committed to it.

TNI: Though Mattel's answer here did little to shed any light on the future of the Masters of the Universe movie, news recently broke about Sony picking up the rights to the movie which you can read more about over at ENI.

TNI: When might we see Martian Manhunter for the DCUC line?

Mattel: Sorry, we can’t discuss characters that haven’t been announced.

TNI: Has a final price for Masters of the Universe Classics Battle Cat been determined yet?

Mattel: Battle Cat will be $30.00.

TNI: Etailers recently started taking pre-orders for Wave 13 but do not list what figures will be offered in this assortment. When might we expect to hear what figures will be included in this wave?

Mattel: Later in the fall.

TNI: Any chance of seeing a Hot Wheels Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters?

Mattel: Stay tuned!

TNI: Besides the recently announced re-issues of the MOTUC He-Man and Skeletor that are due out in November and December 2009, will there be any other MOTUC figures re-released in the near future?

Mattel: We will have to see how these first re-releases perform before commenting on additional re-releases.
