Mattel's
Masters Of The Universe Origins Eternia Playset campaign has come to an end. The final total of backers for it was
9,286.
Since the campaign did not reach
10k Backers, the
Origins Keclar, leader of the Elders figure
WILL NOT be included at all and only those who backed the campaign in the first week will get the
Origins King Grayskull figure.
Everyone who backed the campaign will get the articulated
Moat Monster figure since the campaign did surpass
8k backers and of course the
Eternia playset itself will move into production since it surpassed the
minimum 5k Backers needed.
While this crowdsourcing campaign was more successful than
Hasbro's Marvel Legends Engine Of Vengeance one that ended last month in complete failure, it's hard to consider this one a total success since it failed to meet all it's goals. Of course the fact that several other high-priced
Masters of the Universe related products went up for sale around the time as this playset did such as
Mondo's 1/6 scale $500 Battle Cat and Mattel's own
$300 Shogun Masters figures probably didn't help things either.
