Shown below is the new Mattel Masters of the Universe Origins Retro Punching He-Man and Skeletor 80th Anniversary Pack is available for pre-order at Target with a suggested retail price of $44.99.

This nostalgic Masters of the Universe Origins 2-pack celebrates the 80th Anniversary of Mattel and really packs a punch, with retro-style He-Man and Skeletor figures with punching action! A classic hero versus villain pack, the figures are designed at 5.5-inch scale with their original articulation and vintage-style “squishy” heads. The fun-filled “twist and punch” movements on both set them up for epic good vs. evil battles. Skeletor comes with a sword, havoc staff and removable chest and skirt armor. He-Man has a sword, a shield and an axe, and removable signature chest harness. The two swords can combine to create a Power Sword! Two vintage mini-comics included. Suitable for fans of MOTU and vintage toys, ages 6 years and older. Colors and decorations may vary.

I'm on the fence with this one. The less articulation than Origins doesn't do much for me since my original figures are... somewhere (though definitely incomplete), nor does the punching action, but my brain is semi-wired towards completionism, so I don't know yet.

Target two-packs seem to always go on clearance around here, or at least a decent sale. These may be an exception though. I'll probably sit on it and wait for a discount.

OMG wait...I didn't even notice that these didn't have the Origins Articulation, they are the standard classic MOTU POA...Ew, why?

I guess I just saw these are "Origins Retro" ...is this a new thing? Honestly I wasn't even interested, because I don't double up characters (except for some exceptions) so it wasn't for me, but dialing back Articulation on an origins figure just seems gross...I can't get behind that concept.

I'd be on the fence as well, if I was even standing by the fence..but I'd probably not even get on it with this backwards business..nah nah.

Yeah I noticed that, weird, I actually think the more detailed Deco looks far cooler, of course these are not something I'm interested in, but I think it looks fun.

Huh. Different coloration on Skeletor's armor between the promotional shots. I wonder which he actually comes with.

I also wonder, which one is the one that will be officially realeased.

I was waiting on this preorder, a lot of MOTU preorders dropping these last few days. I'm assuming this set will be a Target exclusive so glad I locked in this one. $45 is a little steep for this was no surprise since this is likely a one and done series.

I'm really tempted. I stopped collecting Origins, but this is technically different.... $45 is kinda steep though.... Maybe if I stumble up on this in person on a good day, or if I get the chance to get it at a discount....
