by Jay Cochran
October 23, 2021
The second day of Hasbro's virtual Pulse-Con kicks off with the G.I. Joe brand panel. On panel today will be Emily, Marketing, Lenny, Design, Chris, Engineering and Cory, Sculpting.

We will be updating with the latest product reveals and images so be sure to refresh your browser over the course of the next hour. Look for new products announced today to go up for pre-order starting at 5pm ET at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and EntertainmentEarth.

Also the Pulse-Con exclusive G.I. Joe Classified Series Master of Disguise Zartan Action Figure will be available starting at 4pm ET for premium members and 5pm for everyone else. Hasbro yesterday for the exclusives that went live started out as for purchase and then switched over to pre-orders. I suspect we will see something similar happen today. That means if you end up having to pre-order you will have to wait longer to get it but you will get it.

For GIJoe Classified the BAT. Has multiple hands and weapon parts. Also 2 heads. GIJoe Package artwork will be offered as posters on trendsinternational.com. The BAT will not be going up for pre-order today. No idea if this will be an exclusive or general release.

Pulse-Con exclusive Zartan. Goes up this afternoon this afternoon. See link above.

They are adding two new sub-teams for GIJoe with Tiger Force and Python Patrol which will be Target exclusives. They say Target has fixed their pre-order problems with these.

Three figures being shown: Tiger Force Outback who is a little bigger than Duke and uses a new body. Has arm hair deco.

Storm Shadow Classic Look. Also a regular release.

Python Patrol Viper which is a repaint of the regular Viper.

Python Patrol Patrol BAT which is a repaint of the regular BAT

All three Target figures will be going up for pre-order at 5PM with also limited number on pulse.

Spirit with Freedom is coming as a regular release. He is sniper now and no longer a tracker. Freedom as alternate wings.

Classic Storm Shadow which will be a general release. And Deluxe Croc Master.

Spirit, Storm Shadow and Croc Master will all be up for pre-order at 5pm ET today everywhere.

GIJoe Retro 3 3/4 Retro figures with o-rings are coming to Hasbro Pulse starting with Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow. These will be available for pre-order today at 4pm ET for premium members and 5PM for everyone else on Pulse. The O-rings and thumbs have been updated so they won't break.

Haslab GIJoe Skystriker for 3 3/4" figures. Goes live today. The Skystriker takes to the skies as the very first G.I. JOE Haslab! The ultimate aerial GI. JOE vehicle is back and better than ever, exclusively for Haslab. Catch the entire reveal in our PulseCon recap and then head to #HasbroPulse to back this project and send Cobra a message they’ll never forget 🛩 .
Back the G.I. Joe Skystriker #HasLab project for $229.99 US/ £189.99 UK on #HasbroPulse. This crowdfund project will run until December 7th, 2021. See HasbroPulse.com for more details!
And don’t forget to pre-order your Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow o-ring figures while you’re there! (starting at 4 pm ET for Hasbro Pulse Premium members and 4 pm ET for non-Premium members)!

While I doubt anything is set in stone at this point and how they proceed will be based on sales for this, but I couldn't help notice many of the add-ons for the Haslab Skystriker would be things seen on an aircraft carrier. Then I noticed this addition of this hook (forgive me I don't know what this is officially called) added on the bottom which is something jets use for landing on aircraft carriers. This is not something that was featured on the original toy. It makes me think Hasbro is at least planning for the real possibility of a future Haslab USS Flagg.

After watching the video, I can see how much paint details and shape accuracy to a real Tom Cat this Sky Striker have in comparison with the cheaper Sky Striker I had in the 80s... ??

Yeah. In the thousands unless it was downsized, like a section of it.

Right. I mean it seems out of range to me.

Does the original Flagg has that feature for the airplanes landing? I know they are trying to go for more for real life accuracy on the Tom Cat...?

I prefer this Classified Storm Shadow to the images him with the Bane mask and the Yakuza tattoo on the arm, but it bothers me a bit that everything they unveiled for Classified was very VERY classic, and I'm concerned about what it means for the line going forward.

I prefer this one as well but part of me was actually looking forward to seeing how that look would turn out and how it would translate to toy form, I probably would have acetoned the tattoo out, though. I also agree that some of these modern designs were interesting and I would like to see more. Hasbro could do a sort of retro line where they release Classified figures with the classic looks.

I just noticed PP B.A.T. doesn't come with a damaged faceplate option like the vanilla version is shown with. Also seems like both would have come with one of Hasbro's infamous flame attachments for their flamethrower wrist attachment. It also kind of bothers me that both come with a chest cover, but only a battle damaged version.

I bet we're gonna see 'variants' of the B.A.T. over the years. I am sure we'll eventually see one with all the options you mentioned above. Eventually. (And hopefully NOT Target exclusives). ?
