The 3 pack is a great idea for troop building. But I wonder if they made half or less of them with a commander instead of all the packs? Otherwise you wind up with 2 commanders for 4 troops for example. On the other hand, never mind! We should just be glad it looks like hasbro is finally getting these things out to the fans.

The new images come via 2dsculpts who did the work on these for Hasbro. They say the vintage figure had Xamots scar and pauldron on the left side, while the Sunbow cartoon had them flipped on the right. So while the scar placement is inspired by the vintage design, the jaggedness of his scar is inspired by the cartoon.
I like those sculps. I will buy them...????
I can see them correcting the mistake but the scar in the head sculpt comes across as looking to have stitches, instead of it being just a scar. But still at that size, who is really going to notice.

The retro motu line kept the look of the vintage figures, but updated the articulation. I don't see why they wouldn't modernize the original designs at all. They could've gotten rid of those ugly pins in the arms or possibly added double jointed knees. I know this wiil be a little controversial, but I wouldn't have minded getting these without the o-rings at all.
The difference is ARAH had plenty of articulation, whereas MOTU figures sucked in that aspect. That's why I was thrilled to see more articulation added to Origins. It's odd to me that you think arm pins are ugly, but apparently aren't put off by torso splits (hated that on 25th anniversary) or double knee joints.

Yeah, i admit the O-ring figures do seem off in my own case too and i agree they have their own charm, but it's not a charm i go for, though seeing modernized looks in O-rings? really makes me wonder if that can be possible or what not, but even then i'm not sure if they'll catch my attention, however if i could whether it's the vintage line or the newer o-rings, i kinda would like to at least buy 1 and see how interesting they are, but overall still gonna go for the classified line.

I feared this would happen.
When they went back to the o-rings I was hoping they would keep the modern sculpts but no.
I don't know if I'm an outlier but I like sculpts/bodies of marvel universe and anniversary GI Joe figs far better these new o rings Joe's.
These 3.75 sculpts look horrible. I dont know if you are like me and just recently purchased several cobra troopers and officers last year but I can tell you 100% I will not support these sculpts.
I'd get Tomax, Xamot, Stalker, Gung-Ho and the Viper pack for sure. Maybe Baroness and Lady Jay depending on their accessories. Those with the upcoming Dusty, Zarana and CG knock out a bunch that I wanted to see get made.
Some I hope to see in the line that I just think will look awesome are Mutt w/Junkyard, Snow Serpent, Low Light, Hawk, Tunnel Rat, Shockwave and Night Viper. And Hasbro has got to have some snow and Seal characters planned soon. AND Dreadnoks! I'd love a 3 pack of Ripper, Buzzer and Torch. Road Pig would be amazing. Okay, I gotta stop or I'm going to end up just listing everyone.

No I to prefer the look of the 25th Anniversary figures over the original O-Ring designs. Not sure why some people are so fascinated with O-rings. The only thing I will say is the problem with 25th Anniversary is Hasbro did most of the characters already. The reason why I wasn't really into Hasbro's most recent Walmart 3.75" Retro line is that I already had those figures and for me the slight changes they made wasn't enough to warrant buying them again. Some people are willing to buy the same figures over and over again but I tend not to unless the figure is drastically improved upon.
