Would You Buy A G.I. Joe Classified Haslab Dragonfly Assault Copter? UPDATE

UPDATE: We wanted to update on the "Rumor" portion of this story to say someone has reached out to us who claims to be in know about the situation described below and wanted to let us know that the info about the Dragonfly according to them is not correct and that the person who started the initial rumor is putting out false information.

We have no way of really being able to confirm either side of that at this time which is why our interest in this was more about hearing your feedback on how interested you would be IF Hasbro did a Dragonfly and how much would you be willing to pay for such an item if they did. Whether or not Hasbro does a Dragonfly for the Classified line in 2023 or sometime down the road, well only time will tell.

So there is a rumor making the rounds on the Internet this week that Hasbro's next G.I. Joe Haslab project for 2023 will be a 6" Scale Classified Dragonfly Assault Copter.

The vehicle is said to be 3ft long and 10.5" tall. It is also said that it will include 6" figures of Wild Bill, Airborne and a flight stand if all tiers were unlocked.

The rumor looks to have started over on the TFW message boards and is said to have been put out there by a disgruntled graphic artist who was doing work for a contractor that was hired by Hasbro to work on this project.

We want to be absolutely CLEAR that we have no way of confirming any of this and all of it should be considered very much a RUMOR.

So we aren't here to tell you a Dragonfly is coming since we don't know, but instead ask you if this is something you would want to see Hasbro released and if so how much would you be willing to pay for it? Some are suggesting it could cost in the neighborhood of $400-$500. So let us know your thoughts about it in the COMMENTS SECTION below.

I don't doubt he said that and that may even have something to do with licensing issues when doing vehicles based on real world ones. Like for instance having the recent Skystriker come with Northop Grumman decals I felt like had to do with licensing. However IDK how you do Joe vehicles (especially the popular ones) and not have them based on real world stuff???

Well as far as ground vehicles go they can make the VAMP, the Wolverine, the Snow Cat, the Mauler (based on a concept tank which never saw service, so it might be borderline), and then...well...how popular were the Havoc and the Mean Dog?Air vehicles: there's the Conquest X-30 and the Sky Hawk and...maybe the Skystorm (like the mauler it was also based on a concept, but there doesn't seem to have ever been a prototype).

FYI - I did pull the Dragonfly story from TNI. Not because I felt my reporting on it was incorrect since all I reported was the guy made the video, or that I am even convinced the guys video is BS (However him turning off comments on it doesn't help his case). I pulled it however because there are to many unknowns about it and even if the Dragonfly part is true, there is to much drama BS going on between the digital artists involved that I really dont want my websites involved in it. If you go to YT you can likely do a search for Dragonfly and find the video yourself and make up your own minds but at the end of the day as far as collectors are concerned it doesn't seem likely regardless of who is telling the truth or not a Dragonfly is happening.

I know that Lenny has said he wanted the vehicles in the line to be distinctly GI Joe or Cobra and not really have real world counterparts or at least be based on vehicles from the toyline and elsewhere in the franchise that deviated significantly from real world designs. The Dragonfly is pretty much just a Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter with a different tail and a few other minor differences. This guy's 3D model looks like a Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter with a different tail and a few other minor differences. Maybe that's why, if they hired him, they decided not to move forward with his design.Could also be that they hired a few different contractors to design a few different vehicles for them to chose from, and they chose to go with a ground vehicle to go up against the Cobra HISS instead of this. Him telling someone who then leaked what the project was may have made that choice easier, but I assumed the next Classified Haslab would have been a Joe ground vehicle anyway. That seems the most logical choice.

Rumor and story behind it about disgruntled employee to make it more juice for the public... Click bate approach at best?

Yeah Im taking the news with a whole shaker of salt right now lol

I personally would not be interested in a 3ft dragonfly. I dont see 6inch vehicles being a big part of the classified line. Maybe gunner stations or some diorama type pieces would be easier on collectors wallets and space

A 6 inch scale Dragonfly would be great. So would a Terrordrome. Not to mention a Thunder Machine. That last one would be my first pick.

Yeah, me too. Im actually way more intrigued about the rumored Soundwave x Thunder Machine transformer. 2 of my favorite 80s toys right there..

Imagine a modular base set. That would be cool.

But at these price points, there are many things to collect aside from this line. And I do really love Joes.

A modular Mobile Battle Platform would be sweet
