G.I. Joe Classified Haslab Dragonfly (XH-1) Stretch Goal #3 - What Could It Be

As G.I. Joe fans patiently wait and hope that the second stretch goal for the G.I. Joe Classified Series Haslab Assault Copter Dragonfly (XH-1) Haslab campaign gets unlocked, many have already started speculating what stretch goal #3 might be.

Stretch Goal #2 which was announced on Thursday is for Jane “Glenda” Mullighan which will be unlocked if the campaign reaches 16k backers. Right now the campaign is sitting at 13,564 Backers with just over 29 days to go before the campaign ends. If stretch goal #2 is unlocked she will then be included with the Helicopter itself as well as a Classified 6" Wild Bill figure and a Night Force Rip Cord figure.

The third stretch goal has yet to be revealed by Hasbro and would only be included if the campaign hits 19k backers. So what might it be? Well the two theories that seem to have the most traction are either a Classified General Hawk figure or Classified Airborne figure.

Airborne who's real name is Franklin E. Talltree is the Joe's Airborne Infantryman and also a Helicopter Gunship Gunner. He was featured on the boxart of the original G.I. Joe Dragonfly toy and besides Wild Bill would seem to be the most logical choice to be included with a Helicopter toy.

General Hawk who's real name is Clayton M. Abernathy is the G.I. Joe Commander. Hasbro has told us that we will be getting a General Hawk figure in the Classified line sometime in 2023, and while I think we all assumed that meant as a mainline release, there is nothing to say that it couldn't be a Haslab release.

The other figures we know are coming with the Dragonfly match up pretty closely with what Hasbro gave us with their 3 3/4" Skystriker Haslab 2 years ago. With that one we got the vehicle pilot (Ace), Night Force Rip Cord, Scarlett in Blue Flight Suit and the final figure was the co-pilot featured on the original box art. So if Hasbro follows that same pattern for the Dragonfly, Airborne once again seems the logical choice.

However with last year's Haslab Classified HISS Tank Hasbro gave us a Cobra Leader Cobra Commander Variant figure. If Hasbro did the same for the Dragonfly then that would make Hawk seem more likely. Hawk has had multiple appearances through his history so giving us a variant and mainline release is more doable with Hawk than Airborne.

Finally there is a theory going around that we might be able to decipher the identity of the final figure by matching up the number of x's in the teaser image for Stretch Goal #3 Hasbro released. The x's are in place of letters for the characters name and team role.

In the teaser image Hasbro has released for Goal #3, there are 17 x's for the characters name and 13 x's for the team role. So by that theory ClaytonMAbernathy works for the name and TeamCommander works for the team role. HOWEVER so does FranklinETalltree as the name and GunshipGunner for the role.

The truth is the third stretch goal could be either Hawk or Airborne, or perhaps it's neither. My hope is that it is Airborne, but the truth is we will likely not know until or IF the campaign breaks 16k backers. Hasbro is unlikely to reveal Stretch Goal #3 until Stretch Goal #2 is unlocked.

I really hope I get enough cash before it sells out. This is one of my most wanted things ever. I remember when Classified started that I said I hope we get vehicles, like a chopper and when this came out, I was laid off and couldnt back it. Things are better now, but I bought the ecto 1 and now Im out of money again LOL

Why it would be weird when A. they did this before (skystriker haslab) and B.The limit is only 5 per person or transaction (whihc means there actually is no limit wink wink) and C. Its a HasLab, not a limited # product like Once A Man Cobra Commander.

We talked a lot about this when it happened before with Skystriker. The timing of BBTS putting this up suggests that they did not have a ton of employees set up accounts and order five each. If they did that, why not post the Dragonfly back when everyone else got theirs? So I don't think BBTS is ordering these in the same way consumers and other backers did. (If they were, why didn't they order the HISS tank, a much more popular Haslab?)

I agree with the idea that Hasbro offloaded a bunch of them to BBTS. But why?

It's just bizarre that a product that Hasbro swears will never be available again suddenly pops up on a large retailer in decent quantities (at least 24).

With my last point, there is a VAST difference between a flipper buying up all the stock of a limited product vs a flipper backing as many crowd-funded things they can. One is an #$#$#, the other is cool with me.

Now, what would actually make it weird is if BBTS had like 500 units or something. Even 100. THAT would be questionable, but moreso about HasLabs.

It's really weird that BBTS gets dozens of these in stock.

I think these were probably the remaining replacement stock Hasbro would have produced to cover returns/replacements etc.

Wish I could have got - still want that Glenda...

The Hasbro G.I Joe Classified Series G.I Joe Assault Copter Dragonfly (XH-1) is available and in-stock at our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com with a suggested retail price of $429.99.

Nice for those who never got it. I backed mine during the Haslab campaign and right now I have it still in it's box in my garage until I get time to organize a few things in my shelves... ???
