Toy Fair 2010 - EMCE & Bif Bang Pow! Usher In A New Age Of Mego Style Figures

by Jay Cochran
February 16, 2010
EMCE is working with multiple companies including Mattel, Diaomd Select Toys and now Bif Bang Pow! to bring back those classic Mego 70's style action figures to toy shelves. Revolutionizing the action figure market back in the 70's, these stylized figures with their removable costumes made out of real cloth have developed a huge following among collectors over the decades. The Marvel Legends of their time, these unique looking figures were done for many iconic brands such as Star Trek, Marvel Comics and DC Comics.

Now flash forward to 2010 and we see the return of this style of figure for Star Trek thanks to Diamond Select Toys and DC Super Heroes thanks to Mattel. If that wasn't enough, now thanks to Bif Bang Pow! there seems to be no limit on how many different types of these figures we might see.

Already in the works are new figures for such licenses as Flash Gordon, Twilight Zone, Dark Shadow, The Venture Bros.and ABC's hit series Lost. Even Scott Ian from Anthrax and The Dude from the movie the Big Lebowski are getting in on the action. Check out the images for all of these upcoming figures that were on display at the 2010 New York Toy Fair in our IMAGE GALLERY below.
