It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Marvel Legends Maximum Series Spider-Man figure from
Hasbro! The first figure in the new
Maximum Series line, a line of more premium, deluxe versions of core characters with new sculpts, loads of articulations and packed with a ton of accessories, etc...
Not sure if anybody has heard about this one (LOL). Is it a good figure though? Yes, it is!

The
Marvel Legends Maximum Series Spider-Man comes with
3 head sculpts (
normal, concerned and unmasked),
6 pairs of hands (
fists, grip hands, wall-crawling hands, 'THWIP' pose hands, web-launching hands and hands revealing the web shooters), a
Spidey-sense effect,
2 web lines, a
web shield, a
web snare and a
web blast effect with a
display stand. The packaging is really nice and does have a more
premium feel to it.

The figure is
hyper articulated and rivals some of the best import
Spider-Man figures (in my opinion), with new tooling allowing more poses (
best squatting pose all around). Everybody complained about the
$49.99 price, but I definitely feel like I got my money's worth when it comes to having a really good
Spider-Man figure along with tons of accessories that I would have needed multiple
Spider-Man figures to gather (
I only had 2 before that, the Animated series retro card and the more recent Superior Spider-Man, and I didn't have that many web accessories or hands, so I'm fine with it). The design looks like the
Todd McFarlane art, which I had a poster of in my bedroom for years growing up, and having it in hand, able to do the same poses is a pretty great feeling (
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug!). My nitpicks would be the
Peter Parker head which is a bit creepy (
especially the eyes), and the
shade of blue used on the suit, I would have picked a slightly lighter one (
even though the Todd McFarlane comics always showed more black with blue highlights than light blue). If you have the
MAFEX one, you probably don't need that one, but this is still a darn good Spider-Man figure (
plus this one has thigh swivels, which MAFEX still refuses to use...). Of all the
Spider-Man figures I've seen over the years, I really think this is the one with the best design, proportions and articulations and most fun to handle.
There, I said it!
