Mondo 1/6 Scale Masters of the Universe She-Ra In-Hand Images And My Thoughts

Granted I am not a huge 12" action figure collector and this new 1/6 scale Masters of the Universe She-Ra figure is the first figure I have ever purchased from Mondo. While I won't say this is a bad figure, I will say it's not as nice as I would have hoped for considering how much I paid for it. The figure retailed for $250.

The figure has several quality control issues. The first being that they sent me a figure with only one left grip hand. Instead of getting a right grip hand they gave me an extra right closed fist hand instead. So now my figure can only hold things like her sword in the left hand. I have not yet contacted Mondo's customer support to request a replacement which hopefully they will do, but still I feel like I really shouldn't have to do that for a figure that costs this much. I've also heard some complaints from a few other folks who had similar type issues with this figure.

The other big issue I have with this figure are loose joints. The ankles are horrible and the figure will constantly fall forward unless you use the stand. The elbow joints as I was shooting photos of it got noticeable more loose over time as well. The right arm barely will hold her shield up now.

Other minor complaints I have are things like painting the gems on her power swords and shield instead of using translucent clear plastic. Panting the gems on a $20 figure is satisfactory but on a $250 one I feel like a company should be doing more.

The figure does come with a good amount of accessories which are nice and the figure has a good looking headsculpt. The details on the outfit are pretty good as well. This figure I feel is priced more like a high end Hot Toys figure but made more like a Hasbro 12" Marvel Legends figure only with more accessories. If this figure had a price of $100-$150 I would give it an A+, but at $250 I look at it more as a C+ figure.

What?! I saw that prototype of 2002 He-Man but missed that it was 1:12. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I hope they go deep. I would love to see Evil-Lyn, Orko, and most especially She-Ra. But it would be really cool if they could do characters that were never previously done in the 2002/MYP style.

We need more of the classic POP girls in all of the MOTU lines.

From what I can find out, this is extra stock of the first version that EE will have in hand in October.

It's not a full reissue and it's not the new version that Mondo was just selling.
