Two Major New Characters Exiting 'Star Trek: Discovery'

by Outsiders
March 19, 2019
Deadline has confirmed that Anson Mount and Rebecca Romijn are both set to leave Star Trek: Discovery by the end of the second season. Anson Mount plays Captain Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise and Rebecca Romijn plays Number One, a member of Pike’s crew.

According to sources close to the series, both had strictly one-year deals; the duo had been contracted only for Season 2 arcs as part of a plan to sync up Discovery with the original Star Trek lore by the end of the new series’ second season heading into Season 3.

Looks like the Enterprise is going to be taking a larger role starting in this week's episode. I was watching this guys theory on what will happen this season and I feel like he is def on the right track. The Borg have come to mind more than once while watching this season, and it probably would be best if they take the show off into it's own unique timeline

I'm assuming we're going to see more than 30 seconds of Number One before season 2 is done, right? I've really loved Pike so will be sorry to see him go but it's hardly a surprise unless they were planning on doing a totally new timeline where he doesn't go back to captain the Enterprise. (I would probably support that, sad to say, lol. He definitely brought a lot to s2 and would love for him to stick around for longer.)

This season is like 100% better than the first one and a big part of it is the presence of Pike. They still have a lot to change to get where they are supposed to be.
