The highly-anticipated 10-episode series is currently in production in the U.S. state of Virginia and will premiere Sunday, April 12 at 10/9c following The Walking Dead Season 10 Finale. Subsequent episodes will air Sunday nights at 9/8c.

“’The Walking Dead’ represents some of the most compelling and coveted IP in the world, so we are extremely thrilled to have lined up international distribution of the third television series in the expanding universe of ‘The Walking Dead’ with Amazon Prime Video and AMC Networks International,” said Valerie Cabrera, senior vice president of worldwide content distribution for AMC Studios. “A franchise and story that is rooted in our collective humanity, the appeal of ‘The Walking Dead’ crosses language and cultural barriers and we can’t wait to share this highly-anticipated series with fans around the globe next year.”

The Walking Dead: World Beyond expands the universe of The Walking Dead, delving into a new mythology and story that follows the first generation raised in a surviving civilization of the post-apocalyptic world. Two sisters along with two friends leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest. Pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them, a tale of growing up and transformation unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves and each other. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. But all of them will find the truths they seek.

Co-created by Scott M. Gimple and showrunner Matt Negrete, The Walking Dead: World Beyond stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Nico Tortorella and Julia Ormond.

Produced and distributed by AMC Studios, the series is executive produced by Gimple, Negrete, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Brian Bockrath.

Annet Mahendru is a fantastic actress whom I have missed since the end of her character arc on The Americans. I'm must admit I'm disappointed that participating in the beating of this dead horse is where her career has taken her.
