It has no ties to the Arrowverse, Berlanti has ZERO creative input, and only has a producer credit because it's the CW and that seems to be a requirement or some $#!+. Geoff Johns is the showrunner. I've complained a little bit about it's inconsistency once other people started writing episodes beginning with Ep 3 (probably the low point of the season), but it has been light years ahead of the Berlanti stuff in terms of quality and understanding the characters from the comics, which no doubt comes from the fact that John's created several of them and used to actually write the damn comics on which the show is based. See, that's what I've been hearing, and from the pilot, I believe it. I guess I'll just have to cowboy up and enjoy the ride. Satam - 2020-07-01 @ 10:08 pm

Years of near-constant disappointment from the Arrow-verse have left me gun-shy. If the rest of the season is only half as good as the first episode, I'd still be in superhero TV heaven. If, however, it sinks to the level of the other Berlanti shows, it'll just break my heart. Lost The Flash, lost Supergirl, lost Batwoman, they even ruined Crisis with the friggin' teddy bear, I can't bare to lose another one. It's a Berlanti show in name only. Right now this is my favorite show to watch. I'm wondering if in season 2 we will get Jade & Obsidian. Satam - 2020-07-01 @ 3:53 am

First two episodes were outstanding. It wouldn't be realistic to expect Geoff Johns to write every episode, but if he did, this could be one of the very best superhero shows ever made.

Not buying this. It's better than the other CW superhero fare (so far), but it's not as consistent as it could be.
