February 13, 2021
Queen of the South executive producer/co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez has announced that The CW is not moving forward with the Wonder Girl TV series.

The Wonder Girl TV series from Rodriguez and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros TV was to be based on the DC characters created by Joëlle Jones. The series would center on Yara Flor, a Latina Dreamer who was born of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River God, learns that she is Wonder Girl. With her newfound power must fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world.

This series would have marked the first Latina superhero title character of a DC TV series.

Sucks this won't be moving forward. The Future Slate series is pretty good and they could of had fun with this.

This show could have very easily had Diana, Cassie, Donna, and even Nubia in some capacity and it would have ben a fanboy dream.

The movie is probably what killed it, may not want two WW out there to split the take.

And always a pleasure reading the "usual suspects" being their usual suspect selves with sideways nonsense.

I bet they have bigger plans for new Wonder Girl in DC, be it movie verse or higher budget HBO max tv show either stand alone or connected to movies, it's one of the few newer characters in a while that was received well by almost everyone, so for sure they want to go big with all the potential, poor Donna and Cassie tho, everyone will forget them now,I would guess.

Curious if the cancellation had anything to do with the first episode script? They describe Flor as a Latina "Dreamer," was there some kinda political considerationhere?

Why has this been the story of WW and tv? Very frustrating! One way or another they have to bring WW on tv since she's been absent at some of the most pivotal moments of the Arrowverse. She's supposed to be the glue that keeps the DC world together, not to mention, an integral part of the Trinity. Hope DC gives justice to her history, her legacy and the profits WW brought to them by giving her her own peerless pedestal in the #DCtv #arrowverse multiverse.

This looks like a "pass" for me....

However, I like to see what they have....

Then Pass =^)

Now that's really fast development, from comics to Tv already, but it could be that DCTV really wanted to do wonder woman themed show for long time, and they just managed to find perfect chance, considering there's big dc fanbase in Brazil which they want to capitalize on along with capitalizing on Wonder Woman brand in general.

I'd been happy if it was Cassie Sandsmark. Not really interested in a show for a character that hasn't even shown up yet. There are so many existing character to work with.

I don't want Greg Berlanti messing with Cassie. She shows up on Young Justice from time to time, and I'm good with that. That show is 50 times better than anything he could come up with on his best day.

Total bait and switch just so they can work in their social agenda. How CW continues to stand on the same soapbox after the Batwoman fiasco and certain eventual cancellation, and the cancellation of the once promising Supergirl is beyond logic. I guess they think they can take elements from Stargirl and camouflage this clearly agenda driven crusadeand think they're fooling someone. Here's a tip CW. Just make good shows. Nobody wants to tune into entertainment television and listen to the same garbage being pushed on CNN. This whole damn thing arrived in a pine box. It's certain cancellation serves you right. I turned you off years ago, but looks like you're well on the way to get rid of what little bit of audience you have left. Good riddance.

WHAT? So you can get a TV deal before your comic book appearance now? This had better be a Blockbuster to beat the band. If not, at least I don't have to watch.
