Pass on anything JJ Abrams.
Deadline is reporting HBO Max has decided to pass on the new television series version of Constantine that has been in development for the past two years. Guy Bolton has completed four scripts for the series and would executive producer along with J.J. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich. Abrams and Rich are producing on behalf of Abrams Bad Robot in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The series would be a darker reboot of the DC character, inspired by the characters appearance in the Hellblazer comics, and would take place in contemporary London.
Even with the announcement of a new Constantine film in development with Keanu Reeves attached to return, Francis Lawrence directing and Akiva Goldsman writing didn't help the series at HBO Max. The streaming service already has seven live-action DC series and doesn't want to continue adding on more.
The series will be shopped around to other networks.
I was kinda excited for the rumor ofKeanu's version getting second chance, however, considering there's whole multiverse thing going on they could try both tv show and maybe film?
Don't know much about the people involved and Bad Robot is kind of hit & miss for me but let's see how this goes.

Bolton is a fledgling writer out of the UK. He previously wrote two books, The Pictures, which has been sold to Hell or High Water and Outlaw King director David Mackenzie and his production company Sigma Films for a feature adaptation, and The Syndicate. He is also working on The Croupier, an original pilot script that is in development with Gentleman Jack producer Lookout Point and Sky.
