Paul W.S. Anderson is set to write and direct The House of the Dead, an action-oriented film inspired by the renowned Sega franchise. He will produce the project in collaboration with his partner Jeremy Bolt, while Toru Nakahara from Sega will also serve as a producer, alongside Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Dan Jevons from Story Kitchen. Timothy I. Stevenson will take on the role of executive producer.
The House of the Dead first emerged in 1996 as an "on-rails shooter" video game, characterized by its rapid-paced action and horror elements, featuring a revolutionary concept of zombies that could run. In the arcade version, players assume the roles of agents from the AMS, a government agency dedicated to countering the threats posed by various conspiratorial organizations. The title reflects the bureau's name, highlighting the short life expectancies of its operatives.

Probably another attempt to secure the rights before they expire. It is the main goal, not the quality product.

We've traded up from Uwe Boll. After all those Resident Evil movies, I doubt he still has it in him, but if Anderson could make a House of the Dead movie with the same sensibilities as Event Horizon and a strong cast like that one had, too, I would watch it.
