Hasbro to Stop Co-Financing Hollywood Movies to Focus On Gaming

Say goodbye to Hasbro Studios. Just in is news that Hasbro is finally throwing in the towel on Hollywood movie productions. After a succession of box office flops, CEO Chis Cox told Bloomberg that Hasbro will no longer co-finance movies based on its products. Instead they will be focusing on gaming with a new Dungeons & Dragons video game in development now.

It is hard to argue with their decision after the most recent Transformers: ONE failed to gain traction at the box office. Hasbro will continue to let other studios like Sony to produce movies based on their properties but it does remain unclear what this move means for the likes of the rumored Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover movie.
