It's
Wednesday and you know what that means...
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the brand new
Arkham Knight Batgirl one sixth scale figure from
Hot Toys. Like mentioned in the
Harley Quinn review from 2 weeks ago,
Hot Toys decided to release both figures really close to each other in order to make sure that you don't start the year thinking you will be able to save some money.
Harley was pretty great, so how does
Batgirl fare?
Sober
box art, as all the other
Arkham Knight figures.
Barbara comes in her
Arkham Knight suit (you don't say?!) along with
8 extra hands, an
additional mouth plate to give her an ever so slightly different expression,
2 batarangs, a
grapnel gun with
2 different batclaws (
rope or
no rope), and a
remote hacking device, with 'hologram' screen.
The
body of the figure is a
mix of
both seamless and normal articulations. The top part is
seamless, the costume is just
molded on the rubber and the shoulders, arms and abs move just like a seamless figure (hinged), and then, we can see the
leg articulations. Weird choice, but seamless legs with that suit would have been tricky, so it's understandable.
She has
"real" hair which is always kinda meh to me. I can never really style the Barbie doll hair nicely, but people who know what they are doing might get something nice out of it. The
cape is just like on the Arkham Knight Batman figure:
a total mess. It has
wires in it (seven of them), and it looks pretty bad when you look at
the back of the figure, but can look great for pictures and poses
from the front. The
2 mouth plates go from "resting b**** face" to "slightly smirking". At first, I thought I got the same plate twice, but it turns out there is a very minimal difference.
Arkham Knight Batgirl is an otherwise good figure, looks great, and that cape with the yellow inside is definitely
eye-catching (
from the front). Tons of fun poses for Barbara Gordon, who miraculously managed to stand up from her wheelchair from one chapter of the game to another (The figure is based on the DLC "A Matter of Family", which happens in the past).
More news at 11:00... "
Joker's got my father!"

I'll checkout /look into the "Hot Toys" Batgirl then.....Thanks for the tip ;^)

Thanks for the kind words! It is indeed the same ToyFarce that does the parody news twice a week, also doing reviews. I usually try to add jokes or funny pics in the reviews too (That Batgirl review being a bad example of that...)

Batgirl's swappable face plates do seem a bit... "the same". (straight smile, slighly cocked straight smile)
