It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce reviews!
This week, we're having a look at 2 more of the
NECA figures that were available during the
NECA Haul-a-Thon at
Target:
Demona and
Bronx from the
Gargoyles line.The
NECA Haul-a-thon was a 4-weeks event that happened at
Target and on
Costumes.com, where a bunch of figures were available for a limited time there, before being available online everywhere.
Demona, one of the most dangerous gargoyles in the world, comes loaded with
accessories: one extra '
angry' faceplate,
4 extra hands, an articulated
Grimorum Arcanorum (can be opened to reveal text!), a "
plasma beam weapon" and a
bazooka! That girl is packing a lot of heat! Just like
Goliath (and the repaint
Thailog), she comes only with
wide open wings, so she will occupy a lot of space on your shelf (
unless a smaller character comes with closed wings later on, more on that later). That figure looks really good and has a ton of articulations. There was also
no stiffness on any joints (which used to be an issue with
NECA figures). Right out of the box, she looks amazing. If you want her to be even more scary, just
remove the face plate and display her like that!
Bronx, the loyal gargoyle-beast is an impressive toy. It has a ton of articulations and looks fantastic. He comes with a extra
'angry' headsculpt, and a
piece of meat to chew on. More importantly, he comes with
Goliath's closed wings, which will allow you to display
Goliath in a more neutral pose, and man, does he look awesome with those wings! The wide open wings are now in storage, and he will be forever displayed with the closed wings. I hope we'll see more of those coming as
accessories with other characters, or an eventual
accessory pack. Having the whole
Manhattan Clan displayed with open wings will take up too much space, but the closed wings will enable you to buy more!
