It's
Wednesday, and you know what that means...
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Back To The Future Accessory Set from
NECA. The Accessory Sets from
NECA are usually pretty great (
TMNT, Gremlins, Aliens,...) and this one is no exception. The set was exclusive to the
NECA Store, available for pre-order for $34.99 in late October 2022 for a limited time.
The box is the same size as the
Back to the Future Ultimate action figure boxes, and is designed to look like the
flux capacitor.
The
Accessory Set includes a
Doc Brown head with the brainwave scanner for the 1955 Doc figure, the
Hasmat hood and plutonium case with one removable plutonium for the 1985 Doc figure, the
Vulcan salute hand for the Tales from Space Marty figure (
Remember when we were speculating that it was because of copyright issues? I guess this was solved...), the
shoes and shoe case for BTTF2 Marty,
2 OUTATIME license plates (
normal and damaged), a
walkie talkie, a
hand to hold the walkie talkie, a
few printed papers from the movies, and last but not least,
Einstein the dog!
The big '
stars' of this set are definitely
Einstein and the
brainwave scanner Doc Brown head, which were really missing from the figures back then. From what I understood, those are accessories that could have been included with the figures, but would have driven the prices too high, so
NECA just decided to hold on to them for a while and make an
Accessory set out of them. It is nice in the sense that those are not
mandatory accessories if you don't want them, but '
complete' the figures if you have them,
which is what an accessory set should be.

Great Scott! This is heavy!
