Diamond Select Toys has decided to rename their '
Minimates' line as '
Minis', in an effort to avoid the repetition of 'mate'. They will now be called '
Minis', mate.
The
Minimates are 2" block-styled mini action figures, originally created by
Art Asylum in 2002 and now released by
Diamond Select, covering tons of fan-favorite licenses.

Yeah, those are fair dinkum nice figures, mate" said the Australian representative of
Diamond Select Toys. "
I'm really keen on the relaunch of those figures under the new name, 'Minis', mate. I hope that blokes will buy them for their collections, or even that sheilas buy them for their ankle-biters. Maybe they'll start to collect them too! They're aces, mate."
We are told there are also plans the change the name of the '
Vinimates' line to '
Vinis' during 2024. No words yet if
Playmates is planning a similar move,...
