It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at some figures from the
Mythic Legions: Poxxus wave by the
Four Horsemen Studios. The
Four Horsemen Studios will announce a new wave this weekend (
Ashes of Agbendor), so it was about time I open some figures from a previous one (
I am way behind on my pile of stuff!). The
Poxxus wave introduced the third '
horseman' (or
Dark God),
Poxxus, the one representing plague. Lovely!
First off,
Azahazzar, the demon king, which I fell in love with
immediately since the first reveal, and have been looking forward to ever since. It is an
ogre scale figure (9"), so he towers over all the other. The
sculpt, the
paint, the
colors, everything is amazing with that figure.
Azahazzar comes with an extra
pair of hands,
2 magic effects for his hands and a
staff. he even has
soft goods! In the lore,
Azahazzar had been divided into the demons
Azhar and
Zazhar (
yellow and blue ones) as a side-effect of his summoning. Now that
Poxxus has arrived, they have been recombined in this glorious form. A real
eye-candy figure.

Azhar + Zazhar (not shown, I don't have it...) = Azahazzar

Now THAT is a belt buckle!
Poxxus, the horseman of sickness and decay, is an awesome figure packed with a ton of accessories. He comes with
3 extra pairs of hands,
2 versions of his
Plaguesayer bow (with and without wings),
2 arrows (one with effect), a
quiver, a
knife, a
pair of wings and
magical effect. The details on that figure are fantastic, and can make it a bit of a chore to handle (he can be
pointy and has antennas and insect limbs all over, which are
fragile). His
bow is wonderfully crafted. The
magical effect attaches to his back and gives it a kind of magic seal appearing behind his head.

Both versions of the Plaguesayer bow, with arrows and effects.

"To me, Phlogeus!"
And what would be a horseman without his loyal steed?
Phlogeus is a
rotting horse with great details on its face (we can see its skull through the decaying flesh) and he has a rotten leg, but other than that, it's pretty much a normal
horse under the armor. Still, he has great presence, and having
Poxxus ride him just seals the deal!

The fourth and final horseman,
Necronominus, will be there in a few months, and I'll have the latest
Figura Obscura figures, the Egyptian Gods
Anubis and
Bastet, soon.
More news at 11:00... "
A terrifying visage of sickness and decay, the spiteful god Poxxus is pestilence incarnate."
