Mezco One:12 Collective Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Deluxe Boxed Set Review and Images

This week, we're having a look at the One:12 Collective Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Deluxe Boxed Set by Mezco Toyz. This set was long-awaited by collectors, who couldn't wait to see what a TMNT figure by Mezco Toyz would look like, and they blew everyone out of the water. Those are, in my opinion, some of the best TMNT figure out there! Such an epic set... maybe too much?

"What have I gotten myself into?" was my first thought when unboxing the set. There is SO MUCH STUFF in it! The box is pretty big, with 2 levels of inserts. The top ones, divided in 2 have the figures and some accessories, and the bottom has most of the accessories + the usual Mezco stands and whatnot. Opening it can really be overwhelming!

The 4 ninja turtles come with a plethora of accessories: 3 head sculpts each, tons of hands, different bandanas, their respective weapons, and then some, plus effects for all of them, and what takes this set over the top: some soft goods for each turtles. I won't list all the accessories because there really is a ton, but you can see them on the picture of the back of the box.


















The figures themselves are AMAZING. They really have a great comic book look and feel to them, while being very expressive and fun to handle. They have a bit of a rubbery feel on some parts, which makes them feel even more 'real' (the shells are hard plastic). All the head sculpts have different expressions which are all great, making it really hard to pick one for the display (we'll just have to switch them regularly, I guess!), and the tons of hands allow for many poses. The weapons are nice and detailed, and some can even be attached on their belts, so they can carry more than just their designated ones. The soft goods? Chef kiss. Leonardo has a nice black hooded cape, Raphael has his trenchcoat for undercover missions, Donatello has a brown hooded cape and Michelangelo has a very colorful hoodie. Mezco did a fantastic job.

Mezco has since released a second set, a Cartoon Edition variant, with different heads and a fewer accessories, but to me, this one is way better, even if it does not come with a soul-less Donatello head sculpt with a stoner look in his eyes... ("...what?")
