As
Target just started their
Summer Geek-Out toy collector event, psychologists and experts have now identified a new mental health disorder:
Toyeventosis, a condition which causes confusion to toy collectors about if there is a toy collector event ongoing, or not.
ToyFarce investigated...
"
I have the feeling that there's been a toy collector event ongoing at all times..." says Matthew, a collector from San Francisco. "
First there was a Walmart Collector Con, then a Target Fall Geek-Out, then another event at Walmart, then another Geek-Out... It never ends! I could swear the latest Target Geek-Out ended just a few weeks ago, and they're starting a new one!".
A leading expert in the field, Professor Herbert Figurine, told
ToyFarce about the condition: "
Toyeventosis is a serious condition. Collectors are constantly bombarded with news of toy events, and the fear of missing an event exclusive collectible can trigger significant distress. We advise collectors to write down on their calendars when events are ongoing. That way, they can know with a simple look at their calendar if they are missing out on something or not. Meditation also helps, as well as support groups of other collectors with the same issue."
