most delayed toy in town! This week,
Walmart sent an email to all their customers who had ordered the
G.I. Joe Classified Series Night Force Vincent R. "Falcon" Falcone & Quarrel 2-pack to let them know that the
release date has been changed. What we certainly did not expect was that the updated release date would be so far in the
future!

Robert G. was amongst the first to get the email, which showed an updated release date in
4417. "
Well, I hope they won't delay it any further..." he thought. After looking for answers online,
Robert realized he wasn't the only one with such a delay. One collector received an email with an updated release date in 6540, another in 5211, another in 7916, another in 8616, and another in 8892... Yes, you read that right. Eight. Thousand. Eight. Hundred. And. Ninety. Two.

A few collectors were pondering if they should just
cancel their pre-orders, since they clearly won't be there anymore when their
Falcon and Quarrel set arrives, but the item is also
sold out, so it might be difficult to get it in the future as well...
And who knows what secondary market prices will look like in the 89th century!

Hasbro explained to
ToyFarce that the delay was caused by a minor production issue, such as
the discovery that plastic doesn't last for 6,000 years and that
all of humanity will have most likely evolved into energy beings. A collector added that at least, his
consciousness will live on to witness the
unboxing!

I was hoping it was something like a typo. It would be unusual to put a figure up for pre-order that far in advance, at least for the Joes and ML, the two lines I'm collecting these days.

I reached out to BMAC to try to confirm that 100%, but he didn't respond. There are other retailers, however, who have February, January and even December listed as the release date for the Zandar wave, and I did hear from someone I know who owns another online store, who said that he was told "January/February." The likeliest scenario is that Hasbro passed on "10/25" instead of "01/25" to retailers like BBTS and Amazon and EE, and that it was some internal error on their side (a simple but unfortunate transposition of digits). Supposedly, it's fixed now on Pulse for those who ordered the wave, but they haven't passed on the correct date to all their retail partners yet.Also Toyfarce isn't entirely joking about those Walmart dates. People really did get emails with dates hundreds and thousands of years in the future. Their system clearly glitched, too. It happens.
