It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the Figma Dead Space Isaac Clarke figure from Good Smile Company! Isaac Clarke, everyone's favorite ship systems engineer, now has a fully articulated Figma figure! Crossing fingers for Good Smile Company to do some creatures from the game as well... Make us whole, Isaac!

Dead Space is a fantastic sci-fi horror game series, with a trilogy of games. More recently, in 2023, a remake of the first one came out, which I played during the summer. I've been a fan of those games since the first one came out, and apart from a few NECA figures and a Square Enix Play Arts Kai one of the third game, there weren't many toys from that series. A few months ago, Good Smile Company released a Pop Up Parade figure of Isaac Clarke (non-articulated plastic statue), and I was hoping that, since they have the license, they'd do a nice articulated figure, and here it is!

Isaac Clarke comes with 3 extra hands, his iconic Plasma Cutter, a Plasma Cutter effect, a RIG with low health, a stand and... that's it? It's a little big short on accessories, isn't it? There are tons of weapons from games that would have been nice to have, like the Line Cutter, the Disc Ripper, the Flamethrower, the Line Beam,... but I feel like even a tiny 'Marker' from the game would have at least been a nice touch. It's nice to get an import figure of Dead Space, but at the price they're going for ($80-120), you'd expect a bit more.

Like most Figma figures, this figure looks amazing, moves great, but the joints on the elbows and shoulders can be very ugly if exposed (pics below). It's like they gave the figure Revoltech/Amazing Yamaguchi joints for the elbows, while the rest is more discreet. The Plasma Cutter with effect is great, and the extra RIG to change his health bar is a nice idea. In the game, you don't want to hang around too long when you health bar is in the red!

Did you play the remake? It was really good. Nice to revisit it after many years, and it looks amazing. It's available on the XBox Game Pass.

Still need to catch up with that, but thanks for the tip, I1ll definitely try it!

That's great background info! I believe there only those two to be watched. Both were great, and it feels like a greater, more complex lore is there for the next big move.

Yeah, I was thinking of kicking off the year with some 'big ticket' item (JoyToy TMNT, or something that is popular), but since I saw very little reviews or photos of that figure, I went with this one. It's a shame, because I love that franchise too! I've seen the animated movies 'Downfall' and 'Aftermath', they were pretty great! Is there any other? As always, thanks for the continuing support, and happy new year!

Not a bad looking figure for the most part, but definitely correct on the ugliness of those elbow joints. Yeesh.

Right? The shoulders too, if you bend the arms too much sideways on the butterfly joints, you see the ugly ball joint exposed.

Well, this release flew under my radar. Although this is another stellar review with some of the highest quality pics of this figure. I do agree, some more accessories could have been better, but this is how it is. Did you watch the cartoons? I hope there will be more love to this franchise soon.

How tall is the figure? Figma tends to be on the shorter side since their figures are technically non-scale, so I am curious if that is true with this.

Darn, I always forget to add comparison pics? He's listed as6.7" tall. I can take a picture next to other figures. Any preference?
