It's
Wednesday, and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Roboskull MkII Vehicle with 4" Blood Wolf figure from
Skeletron! What's a
Roboskull MkII, you ask? It's the ultimate action figure vehicle, a spaceship that is a red skull mixed with a Tie Fighter that looks absolutely badass! I had backed it on
Kickstarter in November 2021 and have been anticipating it ever since, and now, it's finally here! This vehicle can accomodate 4" or 6" figures, and it
totally awesome. Did I mention it's
absolutely badass?
First of all, it came with in a
decorated shipping box, which is always amazing. I'm 90% sure people were jealous at the post office when I went to pick it up. Speaking of boxes, the packaging of the
Roboskull MkII is EPIC, with art by legendary artist
Ian Kennedy. The
Roboskull MkII also comes with a carded figure in the box, the 4"
Blood Wolf pilot, with art by
Ken Kelly on the card, and 3
Assassin Skeledrones.
The
Roboskull MkII is "
FULLY LOADED with additional AWESOME Accessories" (actual quote from the campaign!):
2 different pilot seats (to accomodate 4" and 6" figures), a
prisoner/drone transport box,
3 different sets of eye attachments (normal, eye cannons, glow-in-the-dark missiles),
5 missiles that go in the mouth,
4 proton cannon blast effects, a huge
electric effect, tons of
decals and stickers, a
blueprint poster by
Bob Brechin.
"LOOK AT THIS THING!"
This thing is
really awesome. The wings can rotate to have the
Roboskull MkII in standing position, flying position or any other way you feel like displaying it. The wings are also articulated to be more 'open' or 'closed' (
think Tie Fighter/Tie Bomber).
The different
eye attachments are pretty great, and you can also add one of the
proton cannon blast effect to the missiles to make it look like they've just been fired. The '
normal' attachments are so tiny, I didn't even manage to get them in.
The
mouth opens and has a few missiles hidden in it, and the big electric effect can be added there.
"LOOK AT IT!"
The
prisoner/drone transport can be attached in the back of the ship, and you can store the
Assassin Skeledrones in it, very cool.
The
cockpit has 2 different pilot seats, one for 4" figures and one for 6" figures. I picked the best figure of 2021, the
Marvel Legends Marvel's The Hood to show it, but you can use any
Stormtrooper,
Cobra Viper,
Operation Monster Force Sleepwalker/Delta Red or any other 6" figure you want (
I can take pictures if you ask nicely in the comments!). I do prefer the 4" figures version, because you can then put an
extra figure in the cockpit too.
The 4"
Blood Wolf figure comes with a
removable helmet, a
gun, a
jet pack,
2 combat claws that also attach to the jet pack, and a
stand.
Speaking of
extra figure, during the
Kickstarter campaign, I also added a 4"
Wolf Trooper figure, along with a
3 pack of Assassin Skeledrones (
not realizing that we would get 3 with the vehicle already, so now I have 6!). Those arrived during the last couple of years, as teases before the '
main course' that is the
Roboskull MkII, but I had kept them mint on card, waiting for the ship to arrive to open them. I also grabbed the 4"
Skeletron figure and the
Deluxe Hardcover book about the making of that toy, which have not arrived yet. I did not pick the
flight stand with it and I do regret it a bit right now, since I had planned to hang it from the ceiling, but after handling it for a bit, I'd rather have him 'down' so that I can pick it up and play with it every now and then.
A
FANTASTIC toy, huge congrats to the whole
Skeletron team for reviving the
Roboskull (
which was a toy from the 80's), and making it so freaking
EPIC. It arrived right before Christmas, which I imagine led to a ton of people having to edit their
Top 10 list for 2024!
