Comic book collectors and toy enthusiasts rejoice as
CGC (
Certified Guaranty Company) unveils its latest offering: a
grading service for the
miniature comics that come with
Marvel Legends figures from the freshly revealed '
Mini-comic wave'! Yes, you read that correctly - now your 1:12 scale comic books can be
professionally graded,
slabbed, and
certified as valuable artifacts for your collection!
ToyFarce investigated...
In a groundbreaking move,
CGC has officially partnered with
Hasbro’s
Marvel Legends team to bring some legitimacy to the tiny comic books that accompany their action figures. "
We’ve heard the cries of the hardcore collectors" said Jonathan Slabs, Vice President of Marketing at
CGC. "
The world has been waiting for a way to properly grade these micro-sized comics, and we’re thrilled to provide that service. With CGC’s new service, action figures like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Captain America can now proudly display a graded comic book next to them."
"
What we’re doing here is revolutionary!" said Steve McCollect, a CGC-certified grader. "
It’s not just about preserving the comic’s condition - it’s about preserving the legacy of these figures. I can’t wait to grade a 9.6 for a tiny, perfectly creased comic that will be a treasure for future generations."
ToyFarce reached out to a few collectors for their thoughts on this new service: "I was reluctant at first to get that
mini-comic book wave, because I didn't know how I could preserve the mini-comic to keep its value." said one collector. "
Now, I will finally be able to display my Marvel Legends Miles Morales Spider-Man figure with pride, right alongside his CGC-certified mini-comic book. This is what true fandom is all about."
Another collector quipped "
I’m just happy I won’t have to carry around a magnifying glass every time I want to read my figure's comic book. Plus, my collection will now be 100% more valuable, according to CGC, so I’m basically sitting on a gold mine."
Will this be the start of a new age of
graded action figure accessories?
Only time will tell!
