I have the 3 Low Light figures, ARAH original, DTC and now the 50th. As you can see in the picture the DTC is the worst of the group. The 50th looks to be a figure that if you don't handle with extreme care, it can break very easily plus is way taller that the aforementioned. After this comparison I'm going to continue to just collect the ARAH original Joe figures.
I won the Low Light action figure from this 50th Anniversary line on Ebay 3 days ago. Let see how it match up with my ARAH line in terms of scale.
Anyway the detail and sculpt of the figure looks good and I'm getting all version of Low Light (Grey attire) since I watched the episode Nightmare Assault when Low Light fought his fears is his dreams "Nightmares".
As far as scale goes, the original rah Destro was taller than most of the figures in the line, so I think the size of the 50th figure is fine. Leatherneck is a little too tall imo but not necessarily out of scale if they're making him one of the big guys.
Destro is an awesome figure and easily my favorite of the 50th line. I love the way the mask was sculpted, although I still wish we got vac metal.
They are in scale imo. leatherneck just uses the big Roadblock body. Destro is super bad a** too. He is so much better than any version before. The only complaint I have is the sloppy paints.

Ok these figures are not in the same scale of the old figures or even the latest incarnations of the Joe line.
I wonder if they want us to collect these figures from zero without acknowledging or making them compatible with the other Joes that we already know.
It's funny I still haven't seen the three packs yet. Seen everything else that's been released, but no three packs.
Wow, I think he came down way too hard on this set.
Yeah, Leatherneck is tall but I like that feature about him (he had him on his stand when comparing heights to other figures). Maybe if you want him to not be taller than the super-rare SGT Slaughter that not a lot of people have, then it's a problem. Otherwise, I think it's no big deal.
Another thing with the scale is that the line as a whole is slowly morphing taller than the 25th anniversary figures of several years ago. If you take an average height figure like Storm Shadow or Cobra Commander and stand them next to their 25th counterparts, they're both a bit bigger.
Surprised at all the hate for the Destro. I am also one who does not like to rebuy a lot of stuff and even though we have many versions of him, I think this is pretty close to a definitive version. I like the mask and all the hard edges to the facial features. It looks like it was carved out of metal. I will agree that I like the vac metal more, though. But I think the overall sculpt and the gun case win me over on this one.
He also went into a bit of a schpiel on figure price and collector clubs at the end.
As far as price, I think fans got off easy on this line. Really easy. We've got $15 for a two pack and $20 for a three pack. This is in a day when you can find retailers sometimes try to squeeze you for as much as $11 for one 3 3/4" figure! These sets could have easily been $20 for a two pack and $30 for a three pack if not more. Get 'em and sell off what you don't want (I made $10 off Eagle's Edge Hawk).
As for his comments on collector's clubs and alienating the fans...well, I completely agree with that one. Never been part of a club, don't think I ever will.
