Batman Vs Snake Eyes Jim Lee Variant Cover For Zeropoint #3 - Oh What Action Figures Might We See?

The other day we told you how Hasbro's G.I. Joe Snake-Eyes was going to be facing off against DC's Batman in the third issue of a Fortnite/Batman comic crossover limited series being published by DC Comics. Both Snake-Eyes and Batman have become characters that can be played in the Fortnite video game from Epic Games.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3

Batman versus Snake Eyes.
That's it. That's the solicit. You heard us, BATMAN VERSUS SNAKE EYES! Yes, THAT Snake Eyes! Worlds collide on the Island as G.I. Joe's unstoppable ninja clashes with the Dark Knight! Can either of them win, when neither can escape? Will Batman remember he's got to find a way back to Catwoman, all while trying to get back to Gotham City? And what the heck is Harley Quinn doing here?! Oh, and in case we forgot to mention it: Batman. Fighting. Snake Eyes. Do not miss it!

So first thing we wanted to do is update you on that front by showing you this very cool looking variant cover being done for issue 3 by none other than legendary artist Jim Lee.

On the cover we see Snake-Eyes facing off against Batman. We know Hasbro will be doing this version of Snake-Eyes in 6" action figure form. We also know starting in 2022 Hasbro will be doing 6" and up action figures based on the Fortnite video game.

Whether in some possible way that ended up allowing Hasbro to do action figures based on any DC Comic book characters that appear in the game is not totally known, though our general feeling is that it would not. Currently McFarlane Toys and Spin Master have the licenses to do DC Comics action figures. That's not to say it's impossible Hasbro and Warner Bros who owns DC Comics couldn't have worked out some type of special agreement that would allow Hasbro to maybe do some limited DC figures strictly based on the game, which maybe could only be sold on say Hasbro's Pulse website. The Fortnite Snake-Eyes figure Hasbro is doing was sold as a HasbroPulse exclusive after all.

When Looking at the Batman design seen on the variant cover, the first thing I thought of was the Greg Capullo "Zero Year" design, which DC Collectibles did a figure of back in 2016.

Of course the irony for DC based Fortnite figures is that McFarlane Toys actually had been doing Fortnite figures of their own, but never ones based on DC Comics. We have not yet heard official word from McFarlane Toys on the statues of their Fortnite line, but it seems pretty apparent that is or will soon be coming to a end.

So if or when we ever see any DC based Fortnite figures from anyone remains unknown, but after looking at this Jim Lee cover it certainly makes me more excited for the idea of it happening. Hasbro has said they will be announcing more details about their plans for Fortnite in the near future.

Please make this two-pack! A Hasbro-Mcfarlane shared one-off exclusive, perhaps? But the scale would be ridiculous. 1/12 vs 1/10!

Cool cover but is the bat symbol supposed to be crooked?

Can Hasbro, like NECA, get away in making a two-pack figure tie-in for the comics coming from different properties? Hasbro already has the Snake Eyes on the way Jan next year, all we need is the Fortniteversion of Bats.

It looks interesting, I didn't realize it was related to Fortnite, the covers seem somewhat dark in contrast to the overall vibe of the game, nor do I see the colorful alpaca piatas.

Would WB be willing to grant Hasbro the rights to make a sole Bats figure?, a good time to guess about it.

I might just grab a Batman/Snake Eyes two-pack if it's done in Fortnite action figure style (if they come with all those unexpected wacky but well-thought of gadgets and accessories).

Hasbro just has been licensing out the IP to other companies. Very interesting.

And Snake Eyes and Batman together? I'm here for that.

I would laugh my ass off if Hasbro somehow found an in with this crossover to do DC figures for their new Fortnite line. I don't see much chance of that but who knows
