Ultimate Secret #3 Reunites Ellis and Raney
Ultimate Secret #3 marks the return of the second act of the Ultimate Galactus Trilogy as well as a reunion. The former Stormwatch creative team of artist Tim Raney and writer Warren Ellis team-up once again to bring you the greatest threat the Ultimate Universe has ever faced. Raney relieves Steve McNiven, who will still be providing covers, to provide pencils for the coming of the World Devourer of the Ultimate Universe; a story that leads directly into this winter’s Ultimate Extinction.
“At last! Ultimate Secret is back with a vengeance!” says editor Ralph Macchio. “I’m proud to announce top penciler Tom Raney has hopped onboard to draw the concluding two issues, doing an incredible job of bringing to visual life Warren Ellis’s cosmic concepts.”
Macchio also provided some insight into how Ultimate Secret will be leading into the next major Ultimate event.
“Now, with the finale of Ultimate Secret just two issues away, get ready to be totally blown away in January by the final chapter in the trilogy—Ultimate Extinction! You’ll see why it lives up to its title as we present the first appearance of Ultimate Gah Lak Tus! Like nothing you can imagine presented by writer Warren Ellis and penciler Brandon Peterson—who’s breaking new ground with the graphic techniques he’s using.”
“From Secret to Extinction, it’s a great time to go Ultimate!” reveals Macchio.
In Ultimate Secret #3, an alien race is attempting to ensure that humanity does not escape the coming of Gah Lak Tus. Can the combined forces of Ultimate Fantastic Four, the Ultimates and Captain Mahr Vehl avert Earth’s impending doom?

Devil Dinosaur takes on the Hulk in Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur
Devil Dinosaur rules Prehistoric Earth. His ferocity is unmatched by the Small Folk and the Killer Folk. But two Celestials try to even up the odds by bringing a ferocious brute from the future back to take on Devil Dinosaur. It just so happens that this brute is the Incredible Hulk.
“Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur is great fun,” says editor Mark Paniccia. “If you’re looking for an escape from the usual offerings, this and the other three Monster books are just what you’ve been looking for, including Fing Fang Four, Monsters on the Prowl, and Where Monsters Dwell.”
“When this project was approved I was giddy for days!’ added Paniccia. “The team assembled for the Monster Event are people who have a strong connection to the nostalgic and really wanted to be part of this and it comes across in the final product. You will feel like you walked through a time machine and picked this stuff up off the rack at the corner grocery store.”
Brought to you by Eisner Award Winning Eric Powell, Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur features the most savage of slugfests, the Hulk versus Devil Dinosaur. Plus, Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur contains the first appearance of the Hulk from way back in November 1960 with “ I Was a Slave of the Living Hulk” from Journey into Mystery #62 by Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers.
