Sideshow Collectibles Announces New Terminator 3 Collectible Lines

“Leading collectible company to recreate life-size T3 props for fans”

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA — April, 2003 — Sixteen years ago, the original Terminator film bedazzled, thrilled and terrified cinema audiences everywhere. Eight years later, Terminator 2: Judgement Day stormed the box office and astonished cinemagoers with incredible visual effects and live action. Now, after an absence of more than a decade, the Terminator is about to return to the silver screen to wow audiences all over again.

To coincide with the imminent release of Terminator 3, Sideshow Collectibles, a leading manufacturer of high-quality collectible products is excited to announce a select range of Terminator items based on the characters of the film. In partnership with Stan Winston's Studio, Sideshow Collectibles will be offering a 100% faithful full-scale replica of the TX Terminator head.

Stan Winston, renowned character creator and the man responsible for the realization of the original Terminator, has partnered with Sideshow to reproduce life-size props from the forthcoming film, beginning with a replica of the Terminator TX, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s nemesis in the film, “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.” Stan Winston, President of Stan Winston Studios said,“I’m extremely proud of the intricate, elegant, yet powerful design of the TX and am sure she will hold a strong position in the iconic history of the Terminator.”

Played by actress Kristanna Loken, the Terminator TX is the most sophisticated cyborg, killing machine yet designed. Sent back through time to complete the job left unfinished by her predecessor, the T-1000, this machine is as relentless as her human guise is beautiful.

Sideshow President Greg Anzalone said, “The replicas will be crafted directly from the molds used to generate the effects for the film. This 1:1 scale head has all the beauty, authenticity and threat of what will be seen on screen in July”.

The replica will have a high-quality black-chrome finish, adding a menacing luster. Few film collectibles have the presence and eye-catching appeal as this TX female Terminator head. The replica includes the head and neck portion of the robot and is mounted on a sleek base with a TX name plate and the film title: ‘Rise of the Machines’. The entire display lights up with the same eerie blue glow as the original, including the strobing, breathing effect of the lights seen in the film. The overall height of the display will be 15" tall. This item will be limited, and will sell for $499.

Mr. Anzalone said that Sideshow would also separately produce a series of ‘framed collectibles’ based on Terminator 3. These high quality framed items would feature signature scenes from the upcoming film.

Sideshow products are currently sold worldwide in specialty, trend, collectible and comic shops, as well as on the Internet at www.sideshowtoy.com.
