New York Toy Fair 2021 Postponed

The organizers of the New York Toy Fair which takes place every February in New York City has issued a statement stating that next year's 2021 event has been postponed until 2022. In the statement there is mention that they will try and do something Toy Fair related in the Spring of 2021, and the The Toy of The Year awards (TOTY) and Hall of Fame induction will go virtual for 2021. This of course is all in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

by closely gauging exhibitor and retail buying community feedback together with the latest facts related to the pandemic and the state of business travel, The Toy Association has made the decision to postpone Toy Fair New York. At the same time, we are developing with our members a Toy Fair offering in the spring of 2021 and of course the always anticipated Toy Fair New York in the expanded Javits Center in February 2022. The Toy of The Year awards (TOTY) and Hall of Fame induction will go virtual for 2021.

Toy Fair for most of our readers is a time to see what new action figure products will be revealed for the coming year. Like with San Diego Comic Con that was canceled this year, we will likely see most companies continue to reveal new stuff online.

IDK about next two years but at least until they have a vaccine which likely wont be until around this time next year.

It is to get off-topic, I work in a hospital and I've been reading a lot about the subject of the vaccine and in general about the virus, believe me it will be some time before we can return to "normal", the precautions have to be there for a while, even with a vaccine, due to the possible scenario of a re-outbreak of the disease or the mutation of the virus

I'm glad to read they're establishing virtual resources for their attendees.

Does this news surprise anyone?. The crowded events in, at least, the next two years will be affected due COVID 19 and those that will follow them will be different from how we were used to.There will be a before and after.
