TMNT 2 Console Versions Include The 1989 Classic TMNT Arcade Games As Well As Simultaneous Play For Up To Four Players On All Platforms
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Konami Digital Entertainment - America, a division of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles® 2: BattleNexus™ (TMNT 2) for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox® video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube™, Game Boy® Advance and PC CD-ROM has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. In a first for the next-generation franchise, TMNT 2 features more shell-shocking action than ever before as up to four-players can join the mayhem simultaneously in both cooperative and head-to-head modes.
"We have listened to fans of the series and incorporated features people have been clamoring for, including four-player gameplay and classic 1989 TMNT arcade games," said Erica Mason, Group Manager, Konami Digital Entertainment - America. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus is the most exciting title of the series, complete with all of the high-flying ninja action that is sure to please gamers."
Featuring a non-linear story structure emphasizing more skill-based play, the console and PC versions of TMNT 2 offer a varied and engaging gameplay experience. Gamers will instantly recognize the personalities of the famous heroes in a half shell, as the game comes complete with voice-overs from the popular TMNT animated TV series on the FoxBox. Moreover, TMNT 2 allows gamers to play as Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael, each with their own distinct characteristics and abilities. Gamers will need to kick, punch and slice their way past Foot Ninjas and the turtles' archenemy, The Shredder, in two exciting game modes - Story and BattleNexus. The four-player cooperative Story Mode is based on the FoxBox's TMNT Season 2, with individual player's performance and selection affecting the story line. The Battle Nexus Mode offers slick head-to-head action. Additionally, as an added bonus for more nostalgic fans, the console versions provide the ability to unlock one of the classic 1989 TMNT arcade-games.
Meanwhile, the Game Boy® Advance version features more than 40 diverse stages spread across five worlds and massive boss battles. Each stage offers gamers extensive environments with multiple routes and hidden levels to enhance replay value. Adding to the fun, gamers can play against up to four friends with the Game Boy® Advance Game Link® cable for the ultimate kick-butt ninja party!
TMNT 2 is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and is available for the SRP of $39.99 on PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube. TMNT 2 is available for $29.99 and is rated "E" for the Game Boy Advance.
