NECA Releasing Different Material Versions Of Scream's 'Ghostface'

Neca recently announced the upcoming release of the 7" Scream 4 Ghostface and Zombie Ghostface figures. From the look of the figures, the robes would be made of both fabric and leather which many did not believe to be a good look for the figures.

Randy Falk, Director of Product Development spoke with the Examiner and has news about changes happening:

Not much has changed from the prototype to the “initial” release. We made a decision early on to mix soft goods with sculpted so that the robe on the legs would be fabric which would allow the legs to be moved and posed as the consumer chooses. Using a sculpted skirt does not permit this. We experimented with some fabrics last year on a figure from the video game Dante’s Inferno and we were really happy with the results so we were looking for a good opportunity to use them again. Aside from the legs the long angled fabric that hangs from forearms if sculpted can only really make sense with one pose/look so we wanted to have that flowing fabric look there.

It has been a challenge getting the factory production to match the soft goods we tailored and sewed here but overall we are satisfied with the results.

We have heard from some of the fan community that they are not happy with the mixed mediums and the use of soft goods which is disappointing but in an effort to please everyone we are going to make a running change in the production and switch to a sculpted skirt. That way both versions are on the market and those who don’t mind the fabric and want to pose the legs more can buy the initial soft goods version and those who prefer the fully sculpted all plastic figure can wait and purchase that version. We listen and value the fan’s opinions and want to try to satisfy everyone. So here is an exclusive behind the scenes look at how the lower part of the figure will be revised. We are keeping the fabric on the sleeves as I really don’t like how this looks sculpted and again we want people to pose and articulate the arms and have the fabric move with it in a way that makes logical sense, like how fabric or a long sleeve like that would really move in real life.
