CHICAGO, IL - Tuesday, April 20, 2004

Diamond Comic Distributor’s “New Publisher of the Year,” Devil’s Due Publishing, is proud to announce the third installment of Dragonlance:The Legend of Huma has completely sold out at the distributor level with stores rapidly sending in reorders to restock their empty shelves. Likewise, the Hedge Knight Collected, which combines issues one through three of the series, has sold through its entire print run.

In today’s climate, when many retailers hesitate to order new series from smaller publishers, overprinting is more important than ever. Devil’s Due Publishing understands this. By collecting the first three The Hedge Knight issues into one collected edition, Devil’s Due hoped to make it easier for fans to get the first three sold out stories in one book.

“In anticipation of the demand we actually overprinted Dragonlance by 30%, on top of an OVERSHIP, and Hedge Knight by nearly 50%, and still can’t keep enough on hand to fill the demand,” stated Josh Blaylock, President of Devil’s Due Publishing. “We’ve seen amazing backlist movement on these products, which I believe confirms how many non-comic book readers are trickling in to check them out, and how many new readers are catching on to how good they are.”

In addition to the sell-out issue #3 of Dragonlance, issues #1 and #2 continue to sell briskly on reorders, and initial sales are climbing. Devil’s Due and Dabel Bros. Productions would like to urge retailers to make their order increases on current issues right away, and wants them to know that back issues are still available.

Back issues of the Hedge Knight are still available, and the Trade Paperback ships in June.
