Product Backstory
Deep within the volcanic fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged for himself a powerful Ring, a weapon designed to rule over all the races of Middle-earth. In an epic battle, the One Ring was cut from Sauron's grasp and taken by Isildur, temporarily vanquishing the Dark Lord. But the Ring answers only to Sauron, and it eventually betrayed Isildur, slipping from him into a great river, and seemingly vanished from the face of Middle-earth.
Now many years since the One Ring was lost, a growing shadow threatens the peace of Middle-earth. The power of the Dark Lord Sauron gains strength, finding servants of all races to carry out his bidding until the Ring can find its way back to him. With a heavy heart, the hobbit Frodo Baggins accepts his fate to destroy the One Ring. Joined by his stalwart friend Samwise Gamgee, Frodo sets out for Mount Doom to cast the Ring into its fires.
The journey is long and tiresome, and the burden of the One Ring is great. Frodo can hardly carry on as they grow closer to the end, and there at the mouth of Mordor, he falls to the ground, unable to stand under the weight of the Ring's great evil. Seeing that Frodo cannot complete the task alone, it is Sam who takes up the weight of the One Ring. "Let us be rid of it... once and for all! Come on, Mr. Frodo. I can't carry it for you... but I can carry you!" With his friend and the great burden upon his back, Sam takes the final steps of their journey to Mount Doom.
