Mezco Toyz, premier toy and collectible manufacturer, is lending a helping hand to those who are less fortunate; bulldogs. In February 2008, Mezco Toyz, the makers of the new Heroes action figures, sent a set of
unpainted prototype test shot figures to the legendary 30 Rock (30 Rockefeller center) in NY to be displayed at NBC’s headquarters as part of the NBC tour.
Literally thousands of tourists have posed beside the figures for pictures and many of the cast of Heroes themselves saw and played with the figures during a recent visit to the site. These are the actual figures from the display and the actual figures featured in the recent article in Heroes Magazine.
The original plan was to auction the figures for charity in April, but because of the overwhelming popularity of the display, the figures remained at NBC until the end of May 2008. Now, Mezco Toyz has donated the set of 5 figures to Heaven Sent Bulldog Rescue so they can be auction to raise funds for abused and/or homeless Bulldogs. 100% of the money raised will be donated to the charity and the transaction will be handled by Mission Fish.
When asked what prompted their decision to help bulldogs, Mezco’s Director Of Special Projects replied, “Mezco has a long love affair with bulldogs. A full 37% of Mezco’s New York staff own bulldogs and Mez himself, the President of Mezco, has shared his life with several bulldogs. When Mezco learned about the cruelty many of these poor creatures have suffered, and the wondrous things Heaven Sent Bulldog Rescue has done to help them, it was clear that they deserved to benefit from this auction”.
The auction begins on June 4th, 2008 and runs for 10 days.
