LEGO Announces New Play Concept ahead of Toy Fair - DOTS
by Jay Cochran
January 28, 2020
The LEGO Group, is entering the arts and crafts space with brand new LEGO bricks and a colorful play pattern.
Introducing LEGO DOTS— a 2D based building concept that offers children a new, playful canvas to express their feelings, ideas and personalities. Rather than building 3D creations with LEGO bricks, DOTS focuses more on designing and decorating surfaces with small LEGO tiles, called DOTS. When designing with them, they form beautiful, very expressive 2D visuals.
It is for the creative. The artist. The designer. Anyone who wants to have fun expressing themselves creatively through wearable and functional objects. DOTS is especially relevant for those seeking open ended creativity – the ability for endless combinations, expressions and choice of personal style.
To tease this never-before-seen concept, LEGO is bringing the product to life through a free public art installation in London this week to encourage everyone to explore and unlock their creativity in unexpected ways. The products will then be seen for the first time in the U.S. at New York Toy Fair next month.
