The plush toy market will welcome a new friend this week with the introduction of Hasbro, Inc.'s (NYSE: HAS) ITSY BITSY SPIDER-MAN, a 14-inch cuddly singing and dancing plush figure that sings the childhood classic "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and the Spider-Man theme song. The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man for the toddler set is the first product to be released from Hasbro under its licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment, Inc., and will launch the new Spider-Man and Friends line of products for the youngest super hero fans.

"The introduction of ITSY BITSY SPIDER-MAN marks the beginning of a fantastic line of products that feature the Marvel universe," said Eric Nyman, Vice President of Marketing for Hasbro's Marvel properties. "We recently previewed our new product line, including ITSY BITSY SPIDER-MAN, at San Diego Comic-Con, and were delighted that fans and collectors welcomed our products so enthusiastically."

The ITSY BITSY SPIDER-MAN plush toy shows off his dance moves while singing two different childhood classics: "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and the "Spider-Man and Friends" theme. And, Spidey isn't limited to just dancing and singing -- he laughs with his playmates while encouraging them to dance and sing along.

"Spider-Man has demonstrated his appeal and merchandising strength in the preschool aisle," says Toy Wishes contributing editor Chris Byrne, aka The Toy Guy(R). "The new ITSY-BITSY SPIDER MAN balances super hero role play with a cuddly friend that's fun and developmentally consistent with how these youngest fans experience and play with their favorite characters."

ITSY BITSY SPIDER-MAN is recommended for children ages 18 months and older and will retail for the approximate retail price of $29.99 at mass-market retail locations and at Hasbrotoyshop.com. Four AA batteries are included.

Also in time for the holidays, Hasbro will launch its SPIDER-MAN: ORIGINS action figures. This line of figures will feature the various costumes that Spider-Man has worn through the years of the Marvel comic book series, including "Spider-Man 2099" and "Iron Spider" armor.
