Hasbro pulled out all the stops with debuting their new line of Marvel products on Preview Night of the San Diego Comic Convention. We had to a chance to talk to some of the members of Hasrbo design team for the Marvel stuff. First off, Hasbro will be doing the design and not just the distribution of the Marvel products. However Marvel will have final approval on everything released, and they will be working very closely with the folks at Marvel.
Marvel Legends will continue with wave 16 shown tonight, and then be sure to check back tomorrow night for a look at wave 17. The Marvel Legends will continue to have variants, but know word yet on what variants they will have for the next few waves. I was told we should see no real change in the articulation nor should we see action features in this line.
The new Marvel Icons line will be continueing as well with additions of Thor and Wolverine in wave 2.
Spider-Man Classics will now be renamed Orgins. Look Iron Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099 with Removable Cape. Look for some of these figures to have action features. There will also be a Villians wave which are previously released Toy Biz figures with some new paint touch ups, and some previously released Spider-Man Movie figues.
Hasbro will also be releasing a new line of Signature Series Marvel figures that have Mego feel to them along with a new kid line of Team Superhero figures.
Marvel figures will also be joining Hasbro's line of Titanium figures.
Look for new Ghost Rider movie figures based on Nicholas Cage to hit as well. According to Hasbro, these products won't be able to be released until January 2007. Stay tuned through out the weekend for more news and images from Hasbro and Marvel.
