It's a shame, really. A line that really is well done and should have hit like gang-busters failed so quickly. At least it wasn't as bad of a failure as the Prince Caspian toy-line!
I think the real problem was that the stores were flooded, absolutely over-filled, with the first few waves of figures. Without the fresh product coming in people stopped looking and excited fell through the floor. There is of course the other major problem, which was pointed out elsewhere, that of the somewhat limited number of characters to make figures from.
